13 July, 2020 By Katie Kuschminder

Together with Zoe Ogahara and Iman Rajabzadeh, this article has been published in International Migration and will hopefully be part of a special issue on Reintegration that I have been co-editing with Ine Lietaert. The article is open access and available here. Many thanks to the ILO Ethiopia for sharing with us this great dataset and to Aida Awel and Kidist Getachew for valuable comments on the paper. ADMIGOV Background Paper: Migration Governance in Ethiopia

15 December, 2019 By Katie Kuschminder

For the ADMIGOV project, Zoe Ogahara and I wrote a background paper on migration governance in Ethiopia. This event brought together human trafficking and migration researchers to illicit cross-overs in current migration flows. My presentation focused on reintegration in Ethiopia and how to reintegrate vulnerable returnees that may have been victims of human trafficking. You can access the presentation here. … [Read more...]

Migration and multidimensional well-being in Ethiopia: investigating the role of migrants destinations

26 April, 2018 By Katie Kuschminder

Here is a new article just published in Migration and Development co-authored with Lisa Andersson and Melissa Siegel. Abstract The purpose of this paper is to better understand the relationship between migration and multi-dimensional well-being in the context of Ethiopia. We investigate the differences in well-being between migrant, non-migrant and return migrant households. We then go a step further to understand the role of migrants destinations for well-being by disaggregating … [Read more...]
