‘A long way to go: Irregular migration patterns, processes, drivers and decision making‘ Edited by Marie McAuliffe and Khalid Koser has just been published by ANU Press. This is a great collection of papers on irregular migration decision making that were funded under the Australian Government Irregular Migration Research Programme. The book is available as a free download here.
I have contributed to two chapters. The first with Khalid Koser entitled ‘“Assisted voluntary return and reintegration of migrants: A comparative approach’, which summarizes the key findings from the Comparative Research on the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration of migrants project.
The second is with Craig Loschmann and Melissa Siegel entitled ‘The Root Causes of Movement: Exploring the Determinants of Irregular Migration from Afghanistan’ which uses the IS Academy Migration and Development project data to analyze irregular migration determinants from Afghanistan.
