ILO Reintegration Package for Ethiopia and Background Report

  Last year (2017), I developed a reintegration package for Ethiopia for the ILO in Addis Ababa with Alexandra Ricard Guay. Both the Reintegration package and the Reintegration Background Report have now been published. ILO has used this reintegration package as a starting point to work with the Government of Ethiopia to develop a "Reintegration Directive" that I hope will be further developed and endorsed in Ethiopia soon. College of Europe Migration Training at the European Court of Auditors

On behalf of the College of Europe, I was privileged to deliver a training on migration at the European Court of Auditors. As migration funding has risen substantially in the EU, there is of course a large increase in the number of audits necessary on EU External Action on migration. Danish Refugee Council: People in Mixed Migration Flows A Complex Reality

Mixed migration is a new phrase that has gained population over the past decade and describes the complexity of movements today that includes both refugees and other migrants. On 9th November I participated in the first conference of the Danish Refugee Council Mixed Migration Centre in a panel  on the drivers and aspirations of migration. Return and Reintegration of Migrants: A European Dialogue

In October, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Federal Ministry of the Interior, Building and Community hosted a European Dialogue on Return and Reintegration of Migrants. The event brought together policy makers, practitioners, civil society, and academics from across Europe. GIZ has produced this short film on the event. KOM in collaboration with MIGMA Human Trafficking, Migration and Borders Under Pressure

  In October I had the pleasure to speak at the "Human Trafficking, Migration and Borders Under Pressure" conference in Oslo organized by KOM and MIGMA. This event brought together human trafficking and migration researchers to illicit cross-overs in current migration flows. My presentation focused on reintegration in Ethiopia and how to reintegrate vulnerable returnees that may have been victims of human trafficking.
